Sun Chemicals - Cow Lane

Sun Chemicals Site is located north of Watford town centre on Cow Lane , near Garston. The factory which manufactured Inks for the print trade closed down its operation in 2006. Hester Architects Ltd worked closely with Barratt Homes and Watford Borough Council to gain planning approval for the redevelopment of this redundant site.

The Scheme

The scheme consists of a total of 223 residential houses and apartments of which 30 %  are affordable. There is also a Crèche / nursery, a small gymnasium, good quality open space, a play area and public amenity with improved pedestrian routes through to Sainsbury’s and the nearby subway.
